Club Sandwich Sliders

Club sandwich sliders stack turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, and tomato on Hawaiian rolls—an easy party sandwich you can assemble ahead.

Turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, and tomato stack on Hawaiian rolls for a party sandwich that slices clean. These club sandwich sliders bake until the cheese melts and make 12 sliders.

For a classic stacked version, see the classic club sandwich or chicken club sandwich.

Why This Works: Club Sandwich Sliders

  • Built as one slab. Slice once, fill, and bake. No assembling 12 tiny sandwiches.
  • Sweet rolls and salty fillings. Hawaiian rolls balance the smoky bacon and ham.
  • Two cheeses. Swiss for a classic club flavor, cheddar for sharpness and a good melt.
  • Garlic butter glaze. Makes the tops glossy, golden, and full of flavor.
  • Fresh toppings last. Lettuce and tomato go on after baking so they stay crisp.

What You'll Need

  • Hawaiian rolls: One 12-count package, kept connected.
  • Mayonnaise: Adds flavor and keeps the rolls from getting soggy.
  • Deli turkey and ham: Thinly sliced.
  • Bacon: Cooked crisp. Oven bacon is easiest: 400°F for 15–18 minutes.
  • Swiss and cheddar: Sliced.
  • Butter glaze: Melted butter, Dijon, garlic and onion powder, poppy seeds, and Worcestershire.
  • Lettuce and tomato: Optional, added after baking.

How to Make It

Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Without separating the rolls, slice the whole slab in half horizontally with a serrated knife. Place the bottom half in the dish. Spread the mayo over the bottom half. Layer the turkey, ham, Swiss, bacon, and cheddar.

Place the top half of the rolls over the fillings. Whisk the melted butter, Dijon, garlic powder, onion powder, poppy seeds, and Worcestershire. Brush evenly over the tops, letting some drip down the sides. Cover with foil and bake 15 minutes, until the cheese melts.

Uncover and bake 5 minutes more, until the tops are golden. Cut into 12 sliders. If adding lettuce and tomato, lift each top and tuck them in now. Serve warm.

Troubleshooting

  • Soggy bottoms: Wet fillings and no barrier. Spread mayo all the way to the edges, and add tomatoes after baking.
  • Chewy bacon: It wasn't crisp before going in. Cook it until very crisp.
  • Burned tops: Baked uncovered the whole time. Cover with foil first.
  • Cold centers: Too much meat stacked in the middle. Spread it evenly, and let cold deli meat sit out 10 minutes first.
  • Hard to cut: Use a long serrated knife and cut along the roll lines.

How to Cook Bacon for Sliders

Crisp bacon is what makes these taste like a real club sandwich. The oven is the easiest way to cook a full pound evenly:

  1. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and lay the bacon strips in one layer.
  2. Put the pan in a cold oven, then set it to 400°F.
  3. Bake 15–20 minutes, until deep golden and crisp. Thick-cut bacon needs a few minutes more.
  4. Drain on paper towels and cut each strip in half to fit the rolls.

You can cook the bacon up to 2 days ahead and refrigerate it. It re-crisps as the sliders bake.

Club Sandwich Sliders Substitutions

  • Hawaiian rolls: Use potato slider buns for a less sweet slider.
  • Mayo: Use honey mustard or ranch.
  • Deli meat: Use leftover roast turkey or chicken.
  • Poppy seeds: Use sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning.

Make Ahead for Parties

The night before: Assemble the sliders without the glaze. Cover tightly and refrigerate.

Party day: Brush with glaze and bake covered 15 minutes, then uncovered 5 minutes (20 minutes total), until the cheese melts and the tops are golden.

Holding: Keep the baked sliders covered loosely with foil for up to 30 minutes. Perishable sandwiches shouldn't sit out more than 2 hours (1 hour if it's hotter than 90°F). For longer parties, refrigerate extras and reheat small batches.

Storing

Refrigerate leftovers without lettuce and tomato for up to 3 days. Reheat covered in a 325°F oven for 10–12 minutes, or in the air fryer at 330°F for 3–4 minutes. The microwave makes the rolls chewy.

What to Serve With Them

For a full slider bar, add Big Mac sliders. For a make-ahead sandwich filling, try chicken salad with grapes and pecans. Find more party ideas in our game day food guide.
