Step by step

Method

4 steps

  1. 1

Add 1½ cups hulled strawberries (fresh or frozen), 1 ripe banana broken into chunks, 1¼ cups cold milk, and 1–2 tablespoons honey to a blender. Drop in a handful of ice if the fruit is fresh and you want it thicker and colder.

  2. 2

Blend on high until completely smooth and pale pink, 30–60 seconds. Scrape the sides once if fruit sticks.

  3. 3

Taste and blend in another spoon of honey if the strawberries are tart. If it's too thick to pour, add a splash of milk and pulse 5 seconds.

  4. 4

Pour into two glasses and serve right away. You want a thick, pink smoothie that tastes like ripe strawberry and banana — not watery berry juice or a frozen chunk pile the blender can't break.
