- 1
Heat the oven to 400°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment or foil. Pound 4 boneless chicken breasts to even thickness (about ¾-inch) so they cook at the same pace — thick ends stay raw while thin ends dry out.
- 2
Mix 1 packet ranch seasoning (or 3 tablespoons homemade), ½ cup grated Parmesan, ½ cup panko or breadcrumbs, and ½ teaspoon black pepper in a shallow dish. Brush the chicken with 2 tablespoons oil or melted butter (or a thin layer of mayo) so the coating sticks, then press the ranch mix firmly onto both sides.
- 3
Bake 25–32 minutes until the thickest part hits 165°F and the coating is deep golden — if it's pale at 25 minutes, give it a few more. Don't underbake or the middle stays pink.
- 4
Rest 5 minutes so the juices settle, then slice or serve whole with vegetables or a salad. You want juicy chicken under a golden ranch-Parmesan crust — not pale soft coating or dry overcooked breast.
