Method

4 steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Soften 8 oz cream cheese fully at room temp — cold cream cheese stays lumpy no matter how hard you stir.

  2. 2

Mix the cream cheese with ½ cup sour cream, 1 cup shredded cheddar, ½ cup shredded mozzarella, 4–5 seeded diced jalapeños, most of 4 strips crumbled cooked bacon, 2 sliced green onions, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, and ¼ teaspoon salt until evenly combined.

  3. 3

Spread in a small baking dish. Top with optional ¼ cup grated Parmesan and the remaining bacon.

  4. 4

Bake 20–25 minutes until the edges are bubbly and the top is lightly browned. Serve warm with tortilla chips or crackers. You want a hot, bubbly dip with creamy heat and crispy bacon bits — not a cold center or an oily cheese puddle on top.
