Method

4 steps

  1. 1

Peel, core, and cut ½ large ripe pineapple into chunks (about 3–4 cups). Add the chunks to a blender.

  2. 2

Blend on high until completely liquefied and foamy, 45–90 seconds — no fibrous strings left. Add 4 ice cubes one at a time and blend until crushed and the juice is cold. Splash in a little cold water only if the blender needs help.

  3. 3

For a clearer juice, pour through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing on the pulp. Skip straining if you like it thick and frothy.

  4. 4

Serve over ice with a lime wedge if you like. Drink the same day for the brightest flavor. You want cold, foamy pineapple juice that tastes sweet and tropical — not watery pulp or a bitter core-forward drink.
