Air Fryer Salmon

Lemon, garlic, and a little olive oil turn salmon fillets into a fast weeknight main. The air fryer keeps the exterior lightly browned while the center stays moist—no foil packet required.

Method

5 steps

  1. 1

Stir the garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, basil, parsley (if using), salt, and pepper in a small bowl.

  2. 2

Pat the salmon dry on all sides — moisture is the enemy of a good crust. Brush or rub the mixture over both sides. If you've got 20–60 minutes, chill it uncovered in the fridge; otherwise cook it right away.

  3. 3

Preheat the air fryer to 390°F. Lightly oil the basket or use a perforated parchment liner so the fish doesn't stick.

  4. 4

Set the fillets in a single layer, skin-side down if they've got skin. Air fry 8–12 minutes depending on thickness. You're looking for flesh that flakes with a fork and about 145°F in the thickest part — pull it a touch early if you like it medium.

  5. 5

Rest 1–2 minutes on a plate. Squeeze on fresh lemon and serve with a salad, rice, or whatever veggies you've got going.
