Step by step

Method

4 steps

  1. 1

Pour ½–¾ cup cold pomegranate juice, apple juice, or milk into the blender first — liquid on the bottom helps everything catch. Add 1 packet (about 3–4 oz / 100 g) unsweetened frozen acai puree (slightly thawed so it breaks up) or 2 tablespoons acai powder, 1 frozen banana in chunks, 1 cup frozen mixed berries, ½ cup plain or vanilla yogurt, and 1–2 teaspoons honey if you want it sweeter.

  2. 2

Blend on high 45–60 seconds until completely smooth and deep purple. Stop once to scrape the sides if a berry pocket is stuck. You want it pourable but thick — no icy chunks.

  3. 3

If it stalls in the blender or won't pour, add another splash of cold liquid and blend 10–15 seconds more.

  4. 4

Pour into a glass (or two smaller ones) and drink right away while it's cold and creamy. You want a thick, berry-purple smoothie that tastes bright and a little tart — not a watery juice or a frozen brick that won't move.
